It’s time for Lasse and Maja’s fifteenth case. The old priest at the church in Valleby is due to retire, and the bishop has come along to hand over the job to young Fanny Winter. But is someone sabotaging the solemn ceremony in the church? And where has the bishop’s silver crozier gone?
Lasse and Maja once again consolidate their position as firm favourites with children; in the spring of 2008, the millionth copy of the popular detective series was sold. For several years the Book Jury, where children themselves vote for the best children’s book from the previous year, has placed Lasse & Maja very highly. Most recently The Gold Mystery gained first prize and The Saffron Mystery second prize for 2006. They also appear in other media: there will be a full-length film at Christmas 2008 (SF), audio books (Grammafon) are issued regularly, and the pair can also be found at www.lassemaja.net . The books have also been translated into more than twenty languages.
